[COMPATIBLE with all AMS versions up to 2.05]
------------------------------------------------------------------------------- What is TI-LIDS? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
You will see a shuffled board of pieces when you run the program. There exists four types of pieces and four pieces of each types. The object is to rotate regions of the board until the arrangement is such that the various pieces are isolated in the four quadrants. In other words, your goal is an arrangement like this:
1 1 2 2 4 4 2 2 1 1 2 2 4 4 2 2 3 3 4 4 ...or like this: 1 1 3 3 ...and so on. 3 3 4 4 1 1 3 3
(equal numbers indicates pieces of the same type)
BTW: If you wonder what the subtitle "Leckfettn-Is-Des-Schwa" means - it's a styrian slang phrase I have used heavily during my tries to solve it ... !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ... and remember: If it's too hard, than you are too weak ;-) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------------- USAGE -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Use cursor [LEFT] and cursor [RIGHT] to rotate a section and cursor [UP] and [DOWN] to select another section.
You can also use the numeric keypad to select the sections directly.
[7] ... selects upper left section [9] ... selects upper right section [1] ... selects lower left section [3] ... selects lower right section [5] ... selects center section
To exit the game use key [ESCAPE].
To start a new game hit key [CLEAR].
NOTE, that there always exists an solution !!
The game itself initializes the board with the following solution:
[disk] [disk] | [square] [square] [disk] [disk] | [square] [square] -------------------------------------------- [triangle] [triangle] | [star] [star] [triangle] [triangle] | [star] [star]
and performs afterwards some random rotations of random sections. I cannot garantee that every theoretically solution is reachable. But at least the solution used to initialize the board is "reachable".
You can turn off the calculator while you are in within the program. This way you can continue the actual game later.
